Yes, absolutely — you can machine-wash your knitwear. Cashmere, wool, mohair, alpaca, pashmina… we love them for their soft and supple touch, and in fact, machine washing is often better than dry cleaning. Dry cleaning can strip the fibers of their natural oils, which are essential for keeping them soft and resilient.
1) Turn your garment inside out and place it in a mesh washing bag
This protects it from agitation and friction inside the drum.
If you have several items, fill your machine to only half its usual capacity and separate delicate pieces (those with beads, zippers, etc.) into another washing bag.
2) If the garment has stubborn stains
You can pre-treat them using the appropriate stain remover from our range.
Work the product gently into the fabric using a soft brush, avoiding excessive rubbing.
3) Select the wool or delicate cycle
Use a low spin speed and cold water.
Add a suitable detergent such as our Delicate Detergent.
Remove the garments from the machine as soon as the cycle ends.
4) Drying is just as important as washing
It is essential for restoring the soft feel of your knits.
Two golden rules:
- Do not hang wet wool.
- Avoid heat sources and direct sunlight, which can shrink or damage the fibers.
We recommend natural air-drying:
- Roll your garment gently in a clean towel to remove excess water.
- Reshape it and lay it flat on a dry towel to finish drying.
5) Your sweater looks creased after drying? Don’t worry!
Use the steam from your iron to relax the fibers.
We do not recommend ironing directly, as it can flatten the natural texture of the knit.
6) To finish, use a special fabric comb or brush to remove pilling
Always follow the direction of the fibers.
